Take your mind for a walk

mentalgassi is a Berlin-based street art collective transforming everyday objects into something that boosts your imagination. “Gassi” is German for “taking you dog for a walk”, so mentalgassi could be translated with “taking your mind for a walk”.

Ever tried to open a .psd in a browser?

Not? Well, me neither. Until today. I was trying to downlaod a Photoshop template in Firefox, but it did not download the file. Instead it choosed to display the file in the browser window, where you can see a nice xml structure, which seems to be used by at least parts of the document. Interesting!

Have a look at those Typefaces as dog breeds! The similarities are stunning. Helvetica is again classified as the German shepherd dog of typography!

Pure interactive eye-candyness

This one is quite old, but I did not know it before just right now. You can spend hours with it! This is a flash animation created for a japanese product tour for the Adobe Creative Suite Web Edition. It is so colourful, dynamic and interactive!

Macro lens video

One good thing about when you own a DSLR which can record video is that you can use all your lenses also for recording videos. It would possibly be very expensive to buy similar lenses for an HD video camera. Here is a very nice example of what you can do with it when you own a macro lens, or extention tubes mentioned in a past post. The video is spiced up very nicely in After Effects!

Helvetica cookies

This one is for typophiles: Helvetica cookie cutters! I recommend not using Helvetica Light or Ultralight for baking cookies, as they would fall apart as I guess!

Created by Beverly Hsu, she sais she will create more of them and sell them on her website. So keep on checking it if you are interested!
