Download now: Hi-res Space Helmet Reflections Poster

And here it is, the high resolution version of 3 Tons Gallery amazing Space Helmet Reflections. A million thanks to everybody who helped to collect the images!

The resolution of the Poster is allright for printing in A3, and perfect for A4. You still can print it in higher formats, but it might get pixely if you look at it from very close.

There are also the InDesign Files available, for the case you want to edit it. We did not find all of the images from the original poster, so I used different ones to replace them. And sometimes I did not zoom in as much as 3 Tons did, as this would have decreased the quality for printing.

Update2: Lets make a hi-res poster of Space Helmet Reflections

3Ton Gallery made a truly amazing collection of reflections in movie space helmets. There’s only a low-res version of it, but there are lots of requests for a high-res version. I agree with that and want to create one, but I need your help!

Post links to bigger versions of space helmet reflections in the comments here. Once we have collected enough of them, I’ll create a full resolution version and post it here!

Update: Excellent work everybody so far, this is what we have at the moment:

Best colour card ever

Light-test.com is dedicated to those light test shoots of photo sessions to test the light and to calibrate white balance and colors. Some of them are quite funny because the people involved know that these shots won’t be exposed to public, but this site actually does that!

Reminds me of when I was developing sets of fashion shots. The model was holding the colour card and making really funny faces. Unfortunately I can’t show samples!

Picasa vs. Flickr for photographers

Publishing your pictures on the web is a crucial matter for most photographers. It’s great for showing your pictures to friends and to get feedback from other photographers. There are a lot of picture sharing sites out there, though Yahoo’s Flickr and Google’s Picasa Web Albums seem to be the most popular and attractive ones. Both offer a free version, with the posibility to opt in for pay-services. But let’s compare the free versions of Picasa vs. Flickr in detail! Continue Reading »

Google Streetview Photography

Recently I had the idea to capture some pictures from Google Streetview and edit them. The footage is not the best, the pictures from Streetview suffer Chromatic Aberration, Lens flare, bad stitching of the individual pictures it is made from, and bad contrast and colors. My intention was not to fix all of this, but to make the pictures somehow interesting. Being used to almost perfect DSLR footage, this was an interesting experience. Continue Reading »
